| And I'll bet half the people on campus are like, "Cal Poly has sports??" I would think that a sports broadcast would be completely different from internet music radio, even though they both originate from the same campus. During my student days I couldn't care less about sports broadcasts, but I might be curious about the music station. Problem is you'd get many more listeners on an FM broadcast than you would an Internet broadcast. Students on campus (excluding the dorms) can't listen to it, even if they go to computer labs, unless they plug in headphones. However like it's been mentioned before, an Internet broadcast would be MUCH more doable than an FM broadcast.
We'd want to find some way to make the programming unique to CPP in some way. Maybe some CPP news could be thrown into the programming every hour.
Do you think the Communications dept would be interested in the project? It's worth finding out if you guys go with the FM option instead of Internet radio. |
