| I don't think it's carried over 100% of the time. Neither my mom nor my dad were nearsighted. My sister wasn't either. But I, for some reason, needed glasses by the time I started high school. They say it's the shape of your eye that causes near- or far-sightedness.
I always wondered if there was any validity in the claim that sitting too close to the TV will ruin your eyes, or reading too much for that matter. Every time my mom told me that I thought it was just kaka. It made no sense to me at all. Yes your eyes will get tired from being focussed at one distance for a long period of time, but how does that make you nearsighted?
