| I live in a studio apartment at Mustang Village. It's across the street from school, 0 roommates (just me), and it is furnished with a couch, kitchen table, fridge, bed, coffee table, desk, two wardrobes, two dressers, and a microwave. Trash and water are included, but everything else you are on your own for. My rent is $645 per month. On the negative side, however, parking here is somewhat limited and it costs $300 per year for a parking permit. And God help you if your friends want to come over; they have to buy a $5 guest parking permit, or park down the street and hike to your apartment.
Overall, I'd say it's a nice place to live in terms of being a student. We have on site laundry facilities, a gym, a convenience store, a Woodstock's pizza, a pool, computer lab, study rooms, and a community big screen TV. There are occasional parties and what not too.
Public transportation is pretty good. If you have your Cal Poly ID you can ride the bus for free. Bike lanes and fine too; the whole town is pretty small and pedestrian oriented; most everyone just walks or bikes here (Be careful though, some punks stole my bike recently). |
