| Dorms on the weekends are dead. Everyone who lives within 2 hours of here goes home. You will probably do the same if you lived nearby. Food at the Commons does suck. You may think it's good the first few weeks or so, but you will get tired of it. If you did not know, dorm rooms are not the size like they are on TV or the movies, they're smaller. Chances are, you'll be stuck in a triple.
From experience, majority of the freshmans who live in the dorms fall in AP (Academic Probation) after their first quarter. I would not worry about it since it's kind of a wake up call to actually study, change study habits (high school ones are worthless in college), and concentrate to do better.
There is really nothing around the Pomona area. If you want something to do, either bring a car or be friends with people who have cars. That way, you can actually go to LA or somewhere else.
All I have to say is... Suites > Dorms
