| You should check out the summer Open House program. I don't remember the name of the program but it is a 2 day program (you have an option to sleep in the dormitory, meals provided) in June or July. New freshmen are encouraged to join the program, get a tour of the campus, join ASI programs (movie night) and a chance to register for the Fall quarter before other freshmen.
Genuinely useful. Ask the appropriate department if such program is available for new freshmen. Hope that helps.
