Hi yonbala, you can read more about the CIS Microcomputer proficiency exam at

Students have a choice of either taking CIS 101 or taking a one-day exam. If you pass the Microcomputer proficiency skill test, you are exempt from taking the CIS 101 course. There is a small fee for the exam but it is cheaper compared to the textbook required for CIS 101.
The course and the exam is a pass or no pass course. Meaning, there is no grade and that the student must receive a 70% or higher on each category (excel, word, and powerpoint).
Hope that helps.
