Well,
we are a Arabian horse ranch, that's no question. However, Cal Poly lies in a subruban area; Walnut, Diamond Bar, and Pomona are unquestionably suburbs. I think that the reason that we don't have something like UCLA's Westwood Village, or whatnot is because right now, no one stays on-campus long enough to make it profitable, but by doing that I think it encourages the students to leave because there is nothing to do around here.
I think one of the single worst things about the surrounding area of Cal Poly is that it somehow ended up becoming a industrial park area. If there was some agreement worked out to change it into a college town area, I think we would definitely see some more interest in staying around. Maybe we should talk with the Department of Urban Planning
