| I'm sure we do have some rival in name, but I don't think the student body comes out in force enough to have any sort of "fun" with it. The school is too commuter based for the students to really have a rah-rah sense of school pride. A lot of students only come here for class and are never seen again, they don't attempt to try to add something to the culture of Cal Poly Pomona. I believe that was one of the reasons the football team was canned in 1982...not to mention the outright laughable defeats of the last 3 years of the team.
I really do argue for a move toward a residential campus, I think it would benefit both the campus, and the cities of Pomona and Walnut in general, think of the economic benefits if they built a college oriented area around Cal Poly instead of the cheap little strip mall that exists on the corner of Valley/Temple.
