hey x I can only go off exactly what you say. maybe it's a problem with how things are said. These last words of yours are the first positive words I have seen you speak of with regards to CPP. I don't know if you are reading what exactly I say. I think you key on words and use them. I read everything thoroughly in attempt not to put words in other people's mouths/fingers. what i keyed on:

"yeah, my family is giving money and big time. my dad has made a ton importing stuff from china and probably would have given big bucks to cal poly"

"so poly's loss is fullerton's gain. (our family believes in education and giving back. but education has to give something too. trust me, it's like night and day comparing fullerton to pomona in business.)"

My words said "Cal Poly is not perfect", and has MANY flaws. My points were to state, "We all deal with problems". Professors are not dumb, I don't blame them for looking for "better" situations. The turnaround in most departments/schools isn't as severe as those you experienced in your school. I would not say CPP has a better business school, nor have I ever. X, I was stressing you make it sound like you were put in the corner, forced to due work, scolded/abused and gained nothing. My main point was things mentioned sounded exacerbated. Parking can be far, but shuttles do pick you up if you want to wait. I walked it, at times, and I was a broken man. At least there is parking now

i knew many of the football players; can't say i miss the them.I mentioned earlier they weren't studious, nor were they courteous. Our woman's basketball team was always good, and won a title in their division. It didn't change anything much. We've had some good teams, yet they were not supported, expressed reasons that may explain why previously. Family members from CSUF (including a business grad) never followed or cared for sports at CSUF. I knew more about the teams then they did, and had friends who played for CSUF on the baseball and softball teams. My philosophy about schools is, go to the best one you can, or to the place that offers the best education in that area. I told my cousin to go to a few schools for journalism, and they weren't cal poly. She decided to go to CSUF. Her best friend is in love with the CPP campus and is hell bent on going their. I've even advised her to finish her CC schooling and evaluate her options then. I also mentioned how much I enjoyed going to CPP. Her uncle is music major at CPP and loves going to school there. I could only imagine how small the budget for the music department is (8 full time teachers/23 part timers) and yet still loves it. I believe the CSUF music department is much larger and stricter.

Guess it's all about perspective, and X, our perspectives differ on many levels.

Jay you're correct about management acting as if everything is good. I'm not arguing that. Just a man being fair. For instance, Dean Hohmann acts like everything is good in the job market and all these companies are forking over money and equipment.

exaggerated obviously, but many of the other points he has are valid. we have alums everywhere, from physicists at CERN ( Geneva/France ) to managers at local/international hotel chains. Just have to get competent business individuals, alums and professors to help shake off the malaise.
