Sackett Selected for Track, Cross County Coach Hall of Fame
Honored recognition by one's peers can be regarded as one of the finest compliments a person can receive. If that is so, former Cal Poly Pomona track and field and cross country coach Jim Sackett has been handsomely rewarded. Sackett, who retired in June after directing the Broncos' teams for 27 seasons, was honored this month with his selection to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Hall of Fame. Cal Poly Pomona Recognized For Blood Drive Competition
The American Red Cross honored Cal Poly Pomona and Mt. SAC during a luncheon on Aug. 1 for their spirited blood drive competition "Out for Blood." In October and April, Cal Poly Pomona and Mt. SAC each hosted competitive blood drives in an effort to collect the most blood. The university and community college tied by each collecting 438 pints. Read more...
