I also read somewhere online that scholarships do cut in into your financial aids. It is best to go seek the financial aid office and get their answer.

Despite some work involved in getting professor's recommendations, it would be worth it if you do get selected. Not only will you earn free money for tuition, you can add the scholarship info on your resume.

The only thing you would lose out in your case is the study time for the upcoming exams. Good luck Uranus. :tup:
