after seeing what san bernardino did to sonoma last night (75-55) in addition to leading wire to wire against humboldt it could once again come down to a war between these two bitter rivals. i think that game monday will have a HUGE meaning by season's end. sonoma doesn't appear to be a factor at the top and san diego got beat on their home floor this weekend. i think it will be a battle among humboldt, the coyotes and that other green and gold team. it's VERY hard to win in arcata. the setting is just like darlene may gym with everybody right on the floor and the place is always packed. then you add in the incredibly difficult time you have just to get there and their uncle bob refs and you hope you can just stay close. if you want to get the inside skinny on the jacks, check out

on the attendance issue, the reported crowd friday was in fact wrong. apparently that 442 number was carried over from the ladies game and the men's reported to be 736. that seems far more accurate.
not one story in any newspapers or web sites about our upset. the sun got the coyote game in but the bulletin and tribune missed the boat. ditto the eureka and arcata papers up north. the amazing thing about that is the coyote game actually ended later than ours. huh?
