| Changing Servers - Expect Problems 3/15-3/20
Hello Everybody,
GradeCalPoly.com has been hosted on a personal computer off a DSL connection since it opened in Fall of 2004. This has been a problem during peak times because a DSL connection is not a good choice for hosting a webserver due to bandwidth constraints. To correct this problem, GCP.com is moving to a commercial web server with commercial bandwidth. This is a wonderful thing, but there are many technical hurdles that must first be fixed to restore GCP.com to a fully functioning website gievn its unique design.
A deadline for the transfer is 3/20 in time for late registration, but anything can happen. My priorities are getting open class notifaction and professor reviews online first before anything else. |
