Judge Alito seems to be a relatively good guy. The only reason I think people would have something to vote against him is because of his beliefs in strong executive branch powers. With the president openly searching people because of his "executive power."

I do not feel like there should be judges giving him this permament power. Presidents need to be checked somehow. Everybody does. Whats to prevent him from wiretaping the opposing political opponents if he feels they are a "terrorist."

Anyway... besides that he seems like a well qualified individual - partisan desires aside.

Sidenote:
This government sure is pulling the 9/11 card a lot - just remember as the debate happens - did our government know sufficent information to stop the 9/11 attacks? Yes... it just didn't work together within itself to put together the pieces. More wiretaps will only make more pieces, and the job harder in my view and logic.
