the women lose again. i doubt they ever in history have been underdogs to dominguez hills of all places but this is a bad, bad team. season is done and they may not even crawl back to .500. |
yes, this game is HUGE. and dominquez is 4-3 at home with a point guard in carlos rivers who has been very hot lately along with one of the league's top scorers in mario malave. this one is hardly a freebie.
i checked the stats and you are dead on about larry gordon. this dude is averaging only 19 minutes per game and yet leads the entire team in rebounds with 73, with almost half of them of the much tougher offensive variety. he is hitting on almost 55 per cent of his shots, including those from distance, and almost 73 per cent of his free throws. by comparison, hervey malone leads the entire team in minutes (489), yet has the worst FG % among starters (41.9%), the worst three point average (29.3%), and the worst free throw average as well (48.4%). his numbers were far better last year and even the year before when he wasn't the alleged leader.
the numbers, the documented performance and your analysis have convinced me. i would start gordon over malone. he has earned the shot. this could be the energy the broncos need to save the season. business as usual just isn't getting it done.
sure hope one of the coaches notice before it's too late.
