Positive is that Melvyn had 22 pts, JBod with 13 and i will give some props to Krause who is bascially sitting at the end of the bench scores 4 pts and had a couple of Rebs.
Womens team just broke another record this time scoring the least amount of pts in a game with 36 pts. Well atleast they did not lose by 40.
After this loss I am almost ready to talk about next season. |
don't give up yet. we have good personnel but am beginning to wonder about the coaches choices. i listened to the game and have to wonder why jboyd is the second leading scorer on the team (he ususally is either first or second) and he adds three steals and shoots 1.000 from the line and he plays only 23 minutes? why? i have heard that coach likes for him to come in and not start but then what? put him back on the bench? if he had played the full game we probably would have won. he is one of the nation's deadliest shooters from long range and he is totally clutch on the line and he sits on the bench? was he injured or something?
i know i am not a big malone fan but if he is as the radio announcer says "the heart and soul of the team" then this explains why this is the worst team we've had in at least five years and one that refuses to win the close ones. where is the heart, hervey? san diego is a non scholarship program, meaning these guys are walk ons. and why is hervey playing 37 minutes when once again he has proven we are almost always less effective with him playing? check out the box score. he only scored four points with zero rebounds and shot 33 per cent of his free throws while the entire team shot 78 per cent. this is the team leader? while hervey played 37 minutes with four points larry gordon played only 9 minutes and scored seven! coach, give these other guys who are producing more minutes. last night it was gordon, melvyn, the always reliable boyd and surprisingly kyle krause. then maybe you can save this season. you have the talent. send the heart and soul to a cardiologist for a tuneup.
the women have gone from a bad team to a humiliating one. this may be the worst womens team in history. we were more competitive at the start of the season against the university of arizona in tucson then we are now. and we recently have been pummeled by scores of 96-54, 90-47 and last night 68-36. hard to believe this is a five time national title team. sure hope we're not seeing the end of a dynasty just like we have in baseball recently. ugly.
