Easy Instructor over Motivative Instructor?

I realize that most Cal Poly students prefer instructors that are a breeze to go through and are very lenient on the grades. Yeah, why not. I noticed that in myself also.
Everybody wants an "A" but are you completely satisfied to earn that "A" without putting much work or hard effort into the class?

There are three types (there are more but to sum it up) of instructors:

1) Who is relaxed and "cool" to the students. Few homework assignments are assigned and simple pop quizzes here and then. Makes the class very enjoyable with activities and what not. At the end, you learned something about the subject but didn't get everything your hungry mind seeked for.

2) Who punishes students with endless reading assignnments. Research papers one after another. Thrice the lab time compared to your class time. However, from the endless assignments, you are learning so much from the class than you ever imagined. As the final closes by, you feel very knowledgeable about the material (if you have progressed so far that is). Your effort unto each assignments proved to the instructor that you deserve a high grade and if you don't put effort and try to pass the course by luck, you end up with a weak grade.

3) Who makes the class very difficult as possible. No multiple choice exam. If you failed the first exam, good luck to you on the rest of the course. Expects the unexpected out of you. Can't ask questions during the class. Can not be found during the office hours. One hella of a instructor. Extremely difficult to get an "A."

Reading the "Professor Evaluations," everyone want to take the easiest class out there to obtain an "A." But have you asked yourself, will it help me on my career? Am I going to be an expert on the subject I've taken. Taking the easiest course might or might not challenge you and can be unsatisfying,I received an "A" on one class but didn't feel very knowledgeable about the materials.

Is this part of the Cal State system? While the UC students get challenged and their grades show their efforts, we, the Cal State student does not want to be challenged but rather seek the easy path.
