unless you know some billionaire who wants to throw money away. would love to see it happen, but it won't. look at how many schools in the entire 23 campus CSU have kept football: san diego, san jose (barely hanging on by a thread), SLO, sacramento, fresno, and humboldt. that's barely one quarter. only fresno among this group has had major national support and visibility and big time crowds. poly north must play in the dakotas to get opponents since they are not IA like fresno, san diego and (marginally) san jose. the only real rival they have is davis.
on the UC side only cal, LA and davis field teams.

the smarter play would be to upgrade what you have and focus on top tier basketball and baseball, both of which draw well when you have winning traditions. we have won multiple national championships in baseball and that should return. mens volleyball also is a good bet in this area. further, we once had a championship level DI softball program that also was eliminated. students should press to get the broncos into the big west conference to play schools more like themselves and also compete with non conference teams we have heard of.
