Service-Learning is a way of teaching that has students actively participating in the community while learning the theories they need to be successful in their course. The student learns a theory inside the classroom and then go out into the community to apply it while providing a service to the community partner. For example, if you see EWS 202 and EWS 202S they are still the same class, however EWS 202S might be taught with Boys and Girls Club or Pomona Day Labor Center to help the student get that real-world experience. You still get the SAME ACADEMIC CREDIT for the course! You can tell a service-learning course from a regular course by going on Broncodirect or the CCS-L website
