zig4rnr is an unknown quantity at this point
I'm a new grad student well. I'm thinking 12 units should be fine. Most of the people that take 8 units or less do so because of time constraints...their jobs....their families...that sort of thing. I'm taking 12 units because: a) I can, and b) after 6 units, you have to pay for a full load anyways. Might as well take advantage of it and brush up on anything that may help in the future. You could even take something fun. Wait, did I say fun? Scratch that. Take something that'll help you in the future. But if you feel more comfortable taking the 8, don't force the issue. You might regret it later.
