It seems that about 88 percent of this damn forum Web site thing is dedicated to how lame and boring CPP is.

(The remaining 12 percent, of course, is reserved for hellos to newcomers, lengthy discussions about the environments of the CPP and SLO campuses for applicants who are too lazy to find previous discussions about the environments of each campus that are littered all over this Web site, and spotting some damnned Nissan Skyline 350 GT parked in the CLA Lot)

Now obviously, there is a lot of interest over the social scene at CPP (given that at the point that I read this forum, there have been 177 viewers for this page).

And I will whole-heartedly agree that at first look, CPP does not have the best social scene. We don't have any great bars or clubs right across the street (unless you are a horny/drunk male and think that oogling at scantily-clad female visitors, who would never come near you unless they, themselves, had gotten hammered off of the 25 cent drinks at Scoreboards, is your idea of a fun evening).

And yeah, the campus is a ghost town on Saturday nights at 9 p.m. - unless there is the occasional loud drunken gathering in the Village.

But it is also apparent that many CPPers really don't have any suggestions to make their social existence at CPP memorable (as deduced by the fact that only 4 out of the 177 people that have visited this forum actually had some suggestions on the subject).

So here is my suggestion to all of you: Why don't you all just put up a forum to plan a massive get together on the lawn outside of the Engineering building? Get out from behind your computers and the sanctity of your downloading hubs and just hang out. You don't have to drink (it wouldn't be allowed on campus), you don't have to reveal your Cal Poly forum screen name (so you're secret identity won't be revealed) and just meet some people.

Plan a massive game of flag football - or ultimate frisbee.

Start a freakin' knitting club for both sexes. Just do something!
