I have a friend at UCB who told me about the whole hub thing that UCB has. I already have DC++. The only thing left is that I need the adress and port, I think. How many people are in there on average? Anybody get caught throughout the year? Find anything you're looking for or is CPP's hub scarce of stuff?
Well, to get on the hub you have to be using the campus network. You cannot connect to it offcampus due to firewalls and stuff like that. On the CalPoly one, I say around 100 users or more. Nobody gets in trouble because everything is done within the network so you don't have to worry about the RIAA or MIAA because they can't access and monitor the hub. The campus network adminstrators don't care because everything is done within the network so it is not taking up precious bandwidth. The only problem with the hub I think is that everyone has the same stuff. It's only good for finding movies and music. If you are looking for something new, you're better off finding it elsewhere or wait awhile for someone to get it and share it on the hub.
