I'll just put this bluntly: Many other schools teach students only to think (and most of the time, very little actual doing). That may work for liberal arts/humanities majors, but for the most part, is depriving students of real-world experiences. If all you do is bookreading, you may end up like some electrical engineering grads who don't know what a transistor looks like or don't know about the electricity that comes out of a wall socket.
