| My group in the previous class were just talking about this. The professor told us that any students with a cap and a gown can walk down the stage on the graduation ceremony. You simply need to write down your name on a notecard and hand it to the announcer before you walk down the stage. You then are "unofficially" walking down the stage with the fake diploma.
If that is what you like to do, there is no problem with participating in the graduation ceremony.
The official procedure is to apply for a grad check, get signed off by your department advisor, and proceed with the ceremony. There are deadlines to apply for the grad check. Students who applied on the month of February will not hear an answer back from the registrar office until the month of June or later. Best bet is to check your major sheet and go down the list of all the courses that you have actually completed to rest assure. |
