| on the prof piece well, this is another matter. the original plan for the state was three systems with poly being above the cal state schools and under the uc programs. when the money got tight the polys shrunk from three to two and got folded into the csu's, albeit ranked first and second of 23 campuses. what faculty say is that pomona and slo get a bigger cut of the pie but not a lot bigger. so that means faculty pay is better than say northridge or fullerton but not as good as irvine or even davis. we have a pretty good faculty overall. every campus has duds and slugs who should have retired long ago.
By the way, there have been several professor who really don't like our school and prefer to go to a "better school". I have no idea why the department allows this kind of negative feedback. But I guess they need a job and we need professors.[/quote] |
