Frl 300 and the Ratings Game

Well,Liang is an easy professor. There is no doubt she teaches and takes time to go over every example. I suggest students take Dr.Carney for FRL 300 or 301 if they want to learn. A notice to students who do take Carney: He is not easy and he still thinks he can teach the way he was taught at UCLA.Also he is very liberal and loves to make fun at anything and anyone.

I really hope people don't judge Cal Poly by rank, because we suck compare to other schools. Ratings are bias and based on a collective effort and not just one department like enginerring. Cal Poly Pomona ranks 35 in Masters Degress while Cal Poly SLO ranks 5th. Yet, our business department requires a 3.0 while Cal Poly SLO requires a 2.5. There are employers who will hire people based on schools and not rankings. USC engineering or Cal Poly? Well, who do you think I will hire. Does it matter whether Cal Poly actually does hands on learning when there are still employers who think Cal Poly Pomona is below Cal Poly and not in same level as any UC school. Last time I check employers were looking for experience and did not look at the US and World New college rankings for guidance. But then again I might be wrong. So, no matter how great one single department is, I highly thought people in general will hire a Cal Poly Pomona grad over a more prestigious or better known school grad. Even if one single department was better at Cal Poly then at the other prestigious school. Good luck to all of the students who think that the rank of their department is going to play a major role in getting a job. Unfortunately, they forgot about personal experience and know how; not to mention their schools image throughout the country.
