First day of the new year was at a relative's house eating leftovers and watching movies all day while it rained outside. Very relaxing, and we didn't have to clean the house afterwards for a change. (Festivities usually occur at our place.)
I too am looking forward to this year, starting with a new job today! To kick it off I'm bringing candy bars to hand to the people I meet today as a bribe to get a good first impression.
